For many people, the new Porsche Cayenne has become one of the most wanted S.U.V.s.
It costs 3 times more than other vehicles of its type, but is it 3 times a better car?
Now, how about having a replica or lookalike of this 4X4 Porsche.
The basic idea is to take a Hyundai Santa Fe S.U.V. and build a rebody kit that replaces the
front fenders, hood and bumper/grill with something that resembles the Cayenne. You can even adapt
late model 911 headlamps to fit. For the rear a modified tailgate, new rear bumper and some new lights
should finish off a basic conversion. From then on its fitting big alloy wheels and a few custom chrome
accessories and you should have something which looks pretty good.
I have chosen the Hyundai as a base because its shape is similar to the Cayenne.
What do you think of the idea, can it be done?

When I first saw this topic I was trying to think of which SUV would be a good candidate. As I was clicking in the Hyundai popped into my mind. I believe that you're on the right track, and you've chosen a well.

I do not have any side-by-side line drawings of either car, but there's a Porsche dealer down the street, and I'm going to be driving by an auto center later where I think there's a Hyundai dealership. I'll see what I can pick up as far as information goes, and I'll report back with what I find out.

It's a great idea, though!

I was in Target last night and they have a Miasto Porsche Cayenne 1:18 diecast. That would help with your design work.
