I am interested in purchasing a turnkey and have been studying the situation for several months. I have also spoken with different builders.

Each claims the others are halfwits. All claim to produce the most accurate replicas.

Sifting through the bull**** is time consuming and aggravating.

I want a Diablo Roadster. I want nearly FLAWLESS attention to detail. I want excellent engineering and craftsmanship. I want a car to perform as a real Diablo would. I want a car that will be able to withstand nearly daily use without major repair issues. I want a car that will never be found to be illegitimate unless the VIN is ran. I even want the engine to look authentic. I will be around people who own real ones, I am not looking to fool the local Hooters girls.

I am in search of a turnkey that is of the highest order.

I am sick of flying to see car that was advertised as "perfect" only to find its a Goddamn automatic witha four banger. Or my favorite was the one I saw that had an American flag painted on it. Nothing said "fake" quite like that.

I would appreciate any refferals or references. I would also love to speak with anyone who has purchased a turnkey before.

As far as pricing? I have no problem paying for excellent workmanship and time. I have a close grip on material costs and will ensure that billing is up and up. The law of diminishing returns comes into play. I wont pay 70K for a car I could own for a little more and just have rebuilt. But anything lower than that.

Financing isnt an issue and can be dealt with quickly. I am also prepared to wait a few more months in order to get exactly what i want.

Thanks in advance,,

Ben

Ive just finished wasting thirty minutes reading the "Best Daiblo Roadster" thread. The gentleman has clearly run into the same pains I have.

This is precisely the bull**** I havent the time for.

One thing is apparent. This market is huge. The first company to produce consistant quality at a reasonable price with a at least a touch of professional courtesy will be VERY successful.

As for a 150K fkae Lamborghini? I about fell out of my chair. No matter how well made its still a knockoff. My neighbor smashed his Diablo last year and sold the remains for 50K. I could have had everything rebuilt and owned a real one for 150K EASILY.

So lets keep the price equitable.

Besides 700HP makes the car no fun to drive day to day. A dragster is a dragster.

hey benjamin, i would suggest if you're looking for a turnkey to contact some of the pro builders shops out there. i'm not sure about the problems of flying but i would always suggest someone looking to purchase a turnkey to visit the shop you are looking to have build it. there is a roadster for sale that was built by luis at wildrides which is on kitcar.com and also dale's roadster from lambobuilder.com is for sale if you're not looking to wait 7-8 months. the cars we build which are d&r kits are accurate but not exact, the two closest roadsters are the naerc and d&r kits and are also the most expensive kits but also the most complete. naerc and d&r have a few builders so you could contact them and see which builder would be closest to you. there is no simple answer to who has the most accurate or best turnkey, you have to look at finished cars and see which features you like and the ones you are not comfortable with because you will be the one to make the final decision of who you choose no matter what each company shows you. dale from lambobuilder.com is also starting his business as a full time car builder and will be building naerc kits, you can see in detail the work he did on his ifg roadster. in most cases of ads for complete kits for sale are done by private builders without a lot of experience and there are a lot of shortcuts in their work so you'll probably looking at having to wait a while for a shop to build to your personal prefrences. most of the top builders base models are around $50,000 which is with the V6 motor and 9" brakes so getting one built for under $70,000 shouldn't be a problem. the first thing i would suggest you doing is to contact the three largest companies(naerc, d&r and ifg) and get info on their builders and then contact their builders for info on what you're looking for. although i've posted negative stuff about ifg that doesn't mean that their builders will give you the same problems, in most cases the builders for those companies get faster service because of the money they make for the companies. hope this helps a little.

Please keep me in the loop on your research, and I will do the same. I do agree with you, that there seems to be an untapped market and need for mass distribution and quality assurance with expensive replicas. I am eager to better understand what shaddoe means by, "you have to look at finished cars and see which features you like and the ones you are not comfortable with." I will contact you, shaddoe, to discuss. Just got back from vacation, and getting settled.

Best,
Michael
