Item 1:
The original powertrain specification-
4L 2 Valve V12,
mounted transversely,
Using a spur gear coupling,
driving a tandem 5 spd manual gearbox,
With a differential at the opposite end of the gbox.
Est. 250Kw @ 8000 odd rpm, 330 kg all up.

At the moment the closest I can think of would be to mate an Mr2 turbo LSD gearbox with the lexus V8. (End on gearbox and 50Kw deficit are the compromise but on the plus side it should come in at around 310kg and is available as a Jap import 1/2 cut.)

But I have been tossing around another alternative. There were a few USA based EW FWD large capacity V6's and the odd V8. Is anyone aware of a car which had the above combinations and a manual 5 speed?

I am leaning towards using Corvette LT-1 V8 power since I also could then use it's hub centres and uprights. And it all could go together in a package not too dissimilar to a lotus elise fabricated ladder-frame/tub.

So far my searching has turned up nothing but slushboxes. I would prefer to stay away from automatics, turbo's or V6's as the body and soul of the car need a big cylinder naturally aspirated solution.

Item 2 would be a windscreen. Original replica's are worth about 1400 euro. Can anyone think of a donor alternative? 240Z?

Item 3 Is the magnesium alloys rims and spinners. Can anyone think of an aftermarket alternative that look like the originals? Halibrands are close, but have too much GT40 in them.

Put your thinking caps on as a Miura kit would be a worthy cause.....

Regards,
SteveB
