just inherit a 1952 mgtd kitcar, but have no info on car as what chassis/frame is underneath. mechanic told me it needs an new front crossmember (rust) how can i find out, what type of frame it is. and where can i find this crossmember ?

There were two types of chassis for those cars, the Beetle (VW) and Chevette (GM). A Beetle chassis will have a "backbone" down the center of the car on the inside, the Chevy won't have that. Post photos and we can confirm. But a word of advice: if you don't even know where to start with the car, get rid of it and save yourself headaches later. |
