jokerz1 I am getting a 1977 Bradley GT that needs some work. Well, a lot of work actually but it's free and I'm a mechanic so it won't be too bad. Does anyone know where I can find parts for it? It needs a windshield, door stryker, and a couple other things but I have searched and searched and can not find parts for it. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Rick Find another Bradley. Parts are now non-existant or damn near close. Have you been to the Bradley website yet to see if anyone has any spares? The actual website has been hacked; there's a backdoor access posted somewhere on this forum. If I find it, I'll post it again here. Or, check the Yahoo groups sites for the Bradley owners group.

jokerz1 Im getting it for free so I can't be too picky. I can do any kind of work it needs, just wondering where to get parts. If you find the link thank you.

jspbtown Here is the link to the new board:

Is your car a GT or a GTII? A GT uses a Corvette windshield and the door hardware is marine based so no big deals there. For GTs the real part problems are the plexiglass gull wing doors and the rear hatches (there were two styles).

If it is a GTII then the windshield was custom and you need to do some serious fabrication to use another windshield. Original's are almost non-existant. Check out Skip's build on the forum. He uses another windshield and has the process explained on his thread.

Parts for the striker were VW Rabbit based I believe

jokerz1 It is a GT, not a GT2. Do you know what year Corvette the window was? I appreciate the help.

jspbtown 1963 to 1967 Corvette Coupe. Not Convertable.

jokerz1 Thanks for your help jspbtown, It is greatly appreciated.

jokerz1 I have one more problem. I was told the engine was a type 1 but now after pulling it I'm not sure. Here are the numbers off of the car. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Rear of engine: 021 119 225 A
Sides of engine: 004.101.101.A
I have a book with this number: WO118658
This is the number on the pan: 1332245799

Rick Seems to be an aftermarket case. The differences between a T1 to T3 are minimal - cooling shroud, alternator/generator placement and oil cooler placement are a bit different, that's about it. If it has an upright cooling fan it can be considered a T1. A T4 can also have an upright cooling system, but I think you'd know if it looked "different" from a regular Beetle engine. Post photos if you can. The chassis number...isn't in any of the known databases that I found. Narrow it down by what it has - does it have a ball joint front end? IRS or swingaxle rear? You'll be able to narrow it to at least an era to find parts...they haven't changed much!

kurtlittlewood My sons and I are taking over a bradley GT project. It has a broken window and we are well prepared to manufacture the window if such are not readily available. I have experience in plastic thermoforming and am aware the BGT gullwings have different radius front and rear. I believe otherwise they are 1/4" acrylic. I fanyone knows of a current source for the door/windows or is interested in having a pair made, call kurtlittlewood@yahoo.ca
We will be substituting superior hardware for the door closures etc.. on our project
