Star Wars Landspeeder. One of a kind
Yes, it's back, but this time it has to be sold (medical condition and I have moved) so like an auction, I will take the highest bid.
This was built by a man who does concept and custom cars for the studios. It is based on a 1988 Ford Escort donor and runs fine. I took it to Hollywood Blvd. for a photo op and it was a real hit.
It was at one point and in theory "street legal" in California but the plates were issued without DMV seeing it. The only times I have been stopped have been by cops wanting to see what it is and to take pictures. Right now, I would not recommend driving it on the streets but trucking it around.
I have even made some $$ with it by renting it out (not to drive but to give kids rides around the neighborhood) at a birthday party ($1,000 for four hours from a very rich Orthopedic Surgeon).
It has blue underlighting and I have all the equipment for a vapor propane "flame thrower" for the center jet.
It needs some touch-up which I am having done but this was built to look like the "original" which has spent years in the desert of whatever planet Luke and crew were on.
With a new Star Wars movie coming out soon, this is the ultimate collectors item.
I am putting up some pictures taken just before the final covers were put on the outboard jets (which are now finished the same as the center/tail jet).
