1953 CORVETTE Replica --Lowered Price!!--
For Sale is a partially assembled kit that when properly finished will result in a "better-than-original" full-size Replica of the 1953 CORVETTE.

I do not know the manufacturer or date of the fiberglass (as was the original) body. I can only verify that it is extremely well constructed and to the basic dimensions of the original. Original '53 - '55 Corvette body parts fit without any major modifications. A photocopy of the original Assembly Manual is included.

There are some minor fiberglass stress cracks around some of the openings and holes that have been cut in the body, but NOTHING THAT COMPROMISES THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY or that can't be easily repaired. As you can see from the pictures; it is/has been stored on a custom support frame to relieve any stress, prevent twisting and/or warping, and provide ease of handling. The previous owner painted it the white that it is now. While this has done an excellent job of protecting the fiberglass body, the paint does have some minor scrapes and scratches.

I had not planned to build it as a true replica but as a resto-mod. Therefore, I have dozens of customizing parts (Hood & Side Scoops, Headlight Buckets and Trim, Twin Headrest Rollbar, Taillights, Bar Grill, Chassis & Suspension upgrades, etc., etc., etc.) that I was planning to use. However, I have not done ANY modifications to the body that would preclude it being built as a true replica in appearance. I planned to build it strictly as an open Roadster. Therefore, I do not have any convertible top parts or a hardtop. However, the body has provisions for both.

As can be seen in the pictures, all pieces for the body assembly are included and have been prepped for trim installation. However, I have not done any body modifications or fittings of the fender inner-liners, doors, hood or trunk lid yet. Also, as can be seen in the pictures, I have fitted the dash gauges, radio, AC vents and switches.

The frame/chassis is a 1980 GM "A/G Body" frame/chassis. It has been modified extensively (as can be seen from the pictures) and recently sandblasted and sprayed with a protective coat. My planned next step(s) was to complete boxing of the frame, then fill and smooth all the weld seams. Included (but not yet installed) are a lot of new additional chassis stiffening and handling items (new front and rear springs, HD sway bars, adjustable rear control arms, tubular front control arms, stiffening bars, inflatable drag bags, front and rear shocks, bushings etc.) to further enhance the chassis.

The engine is a newly custom rebuilt 400 CID SBC:
1. Block bored + 0.020 and decked (= 405 CID);
2. Oil passages drilled and tapped with brass plugs;
3. Block hugger SS headers;
4. EDELBROCK ported and polished aluminum heads;
5. EAGLE crankshaft;
6. High-performance Cam;
7. Roller Tip Rocker Arms;
8. Hypereutectic pistons with moly rings;
9. Typhoon Aluminum intake manifold;
10. POWERJECTION III Fuel Injection;
11. Electric Fuel Pump;
12. HEI Electronic Ignition;
13. New Custom High Capacity Spark Plug Wires;
14. High Volume Output Oil Pump;
15. High Capacity Oil Pan;
16. Serpentine Belt System;
17. 100 Amp Alternator;
18. CVR High Torque Starter;
19. Custom Dual Exhaust System w/H Pipe.

The Transmission is a custom built "Street Gangster 700R4" from Mad Dog Transmissions with a B&M "Quicksilver" floor shifter. I also have a new set of 3.42 Ring & Pinion gears and a posi-traction rear end unit for it with a set of new 31 spline rear axles.

The wheels are new 17" MY2 Motorsport Alloy with new VENTUS HRII tires (245/45R-17's on the rear and 225/50R-17's on the front).

The interior is like-new twin tan vinyl power bucket seats. I bought the buckets and the rear seats so that there should be enough vinyl to also do the dash rail and door liners. I also have the matching (what I planned to use) carpeting and a center console. My vision was to fill and sand the body smooth and paint the exterior a dark red/burgundy pearl/metallic with the tan interior. The dash gauge photo in the listing is the color that I was planning.

The REALLY REALLY important thing is that I have ALL of the exterior chrome and stainless steel exterior trim (bumpers, gull wings, grill bar and teeth, etc.) INCLUDING the windshield posts and frame, which are almost impossible to find. I also have a brand-new-never-installed-windshield as well as an original refurbished speedometer!

The list goes on and on (new wiring harness, lights, hinges, latches, custom parts, cross-drilled rotor front disc brakes, Vintage Air AC/Htr/Defrost, new gauges, tilt steering column, custom steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, fuel cell, flip-top fuel cap, brake lines, oil and tranny fluid coolers, drive shaft, aluminum radiator, etc., etc., etc.). MUCH too much to list.

Bottom-line is, that to the best of my knowledge, I have essentially EVERYTHING (except nuts, bolts, and a few other common items) to complete the build. This was to be my "Dream Build", but health issues are forcing me to pass it on to someone else.

Take a look at the photos and description. Due to the limited number of photos that I am able to post, I have attempted to provide those that addresses the major components (Body, Frame, Engine, and Interior). If SERIOUSLY interested, please contact me and I will be more than happy to provide additional details, more specific pictures, and/or answer any questions. Everything is stored in a storage unit in Rockwall and if you are SERIOUSLY interested, we can arrange an inspection and review of everything.

Since this is an unassembled kit, it will be sold via a Bill of Sale. I will deliver everything free of charge within a 100-mile radius of Rockwall, TX 75032. I will deliver anywhere within a 500-mile radius for $0.25 per mile one-way. Greater distances are negotiable.

Thanx for looking!!

SERIOUS offers will be considered

Tom
