Ferr@ri Testarossa Kit 1988 Fiero GT, AWESOME!
I'm selling a 1988 Fiero GT F@rrari Testarossa replica. It's in exceptionally nice condition, with just 26,336 original miles. Looks and runs like a dream! It's a reliable daily driver, and I would not hesitate to jump in and drive it coast-to-coast at a moment's notice.
This car was professionally built for a collector in San Diego who was a perfectionist and a fanatic about his cars, and it shows. It was purchased from his family after his death, and unfortunately they knew very little about it. But an inspection will reveal everything you need to know -- this is clearly one of the finest Testarossa replicas on the road today.
You will not find another replica like this for anywhere near the price. Many of them are poorly built, with obvious evidence of cutting corners to save money and time. With this one they obviously invested the time and money to do it right.
Of course, any replica is only as good as the car it's built on, and in this case I can safely say they started with one of the cleanest, lowest-mileage, best-performing Fieros you'll ever see -- and it's a prized 1988 model to boot.
Most surviving Fieros have the 4-cylinder engine, requiring the addition of a supercharger to provide adequate power. But this one has the rare 2.8 liter (173 cubic inch) L44 High-Output V6 engine, producing 146 horsepower, coupled with a 3-speed TH-125 automatic transmission with torque converter lockup.
1988 was the last year of Fiero production, and it's considered to be the best year by far. Only 25,600 were produced, compared to a total of 344,000 for the '84-'87 models. Numerous changes were made to the 1988 Fiero, the most significant being a completely redesigned suspension (and parts of the space frame) to realize the potential of the mid-engine layout. Resembling the Lotus-designed suspensions of the time, it was the suspension the Pontiac engineers had wanted from the beginning, fine-tuned with what they learned from the racing program. Up front were revised control arms and knuckles that reduced steering effort and improved the scrub radius. In the rear, the old Citation parts were replaced with a real tri-link suspension with all new knuckles.
There were also evolutionary improvements to the V6 engine, and new vented disc brakes at all four corners, with 2-piece calipers and upgraded rotors.
The car is fully equipped with cold A/C, moonroof, power windows/mirrors/locks, alarm and keyless entry. The interior is mostly stock Fiero, with some nice touches like an upgraded F@rrari-badged steering wheel and F@rrari floor mats.
It has a clean title in my name and a current smog certificate. If you have any questions or you'd like to see it, you're welcome to call me at 818-961-6760. My name is Brian and I'm located in the Woodland Hills area of Los Angeles, about 40 minutes away from LAX and Burbank airports.
