Here is a very authentically designed and built car, completely rebuilt mechanically, that you can drive anywhere right now. This car was professionally built in the mid 80's, before F@rrari’s law suit WTH Tom McBurnie shut down the marketing of the 250 GTO and the Miami Vice 275 Daytona Spyder. The base car used to build this GTO was a theft stripped 1976 280Z with 41,000 miles.
EXTERIOR has original F@rrari 250 GTO style headlite covers and polished hand hammered polished aluminum trim rings, fog lites, turn signls, side markers, original tail lites, back up lites, reflectors, hood hold downs, leather hood straps, grille, correct emblems, mirrors, door handles, side markers, hood vents, and also period correct Lucas sealed beams. These original 250 GTO trim items are now unobtainable and worth a small fortune. Car has a new windshield, front and real window seals, new door seals, side window felts and weather stripping.
RUNNING GEAR is the original 1976 280Z which is a 2800 cc fuel injected six with a 5 speed O/D trans, and 4 wheel independent suspension. New rack bushings, KYB shocks and lowering springs. Engine compartment is detailed and completely polished out. Following is NEW: 240SX throttle body, custom polished aluminum air filter, polished billet fuel rail, polished valve cover, polished intake, polished valve cover, new injectors, fuel pump, coated header, electric fan, rebuilt A/C system, NEW 5 speed O/D trans, new authentic Borrani style chrome knock off wire wheels with stainless spokes (15x7 & 15x8 reverse), new Firestone Indy 500 logo tires, KYB shocks, new TURBO flywheel, clutch, slave, master and hose. New brake master cylinder and new Toyota Pick up dual piston front calipers, discs and hoses. This car stops incredibly quick and straight. Car has true dual exhaust with Catalytic converter and new chrome dual resonator MONZA exhaust tips. Sounds Great!! Very close to that original F@rrari tone. Car just recently passed California smog as a Federal car without EGR.
INTERIOR has authentic F@rrari style low back seats in LEATHER, correct shifter & knob, correct GTO style NARDI 2 toned wood steering wheel w/polished spokes and finger grips, new carpet, original GTO style door panels with correct pulls, NOS 280Z AM/FM radio and face plate, GTO style F@rrari dash with hand made brushed aluminum gauge panel and stock 280Z gauges (even the clock works…). Stock 280Z A/C controls (air blows cold…) and original, uncut 280Z dash harness (NO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS !!!)
Car starts right up without hesitation every time. It can be driven cross country at a moments’ notice. Over $9000 was spent in the last 10 months rebuilding this car mechanically and putting it in DAILY DRIVER CONDITION. It is ready to drive everyday. Car is very presentably currently, and needs only to be repainted to be in show condition - clearcoat is starting to go, but I can repaint the car with a base coat/ clear coat complete for $2500.
This car draws a crowd everywhere it goes. It is a star at 3 different cruise nites at different cities in my area (San Diego County) every week. Dozens of pics are taken of this car every time it attends a cruise nite. People love and admire the car and constantly complement it. I can park it at the curb between a $60,000 Vette and a $60,000 Hot Rod and no one notices either car – they all flock to get a closer look at the GTO.
